Description

Pseudonocardia alaniniphila (synonym); absence of mycolic acid; cell wall chemotype IV; major menaquinone: MK-9(H2); Gram-positive; non acid fast; aerobic; aerial mycelium is sparse and pink-white; no production of a diffusible pigment, no melanin production; utilization of D-fructose, L-rhamnose, D-xylose, D-mannitol, alanine, L-histidine, and proline; no utilization of adonitol, cellobiose, raffinose and inulin; no degradation of cellulose, urea and starch; formation of pectinase; reduction of nitrate; weak antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger; no growth at 45 °C; cell wall contains meso-diaminopimelic acid; whole-cell sugar pattern: galactose and arabinose; GC-content of DNA: 70.9 mol%.
