Microbial Information Systems would provide the information on the role of microorganisms played in improving the crop production, protection and product diversification aspects in plantation crops. The information system is divided in to 4 main topics namely bioinoculants, biocontrol agents, organic matter decomposers and edible mushrooms. In the bioinoculant section details of nitrogen fixers, phosphate solubilizer, Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizae are given. The biocontrol agents mainly covers the details of microorganisms involved in insect pest and plant pathogens management. The organic matter decomposers include cellulose and lignin degraders while details of edible mushrooms is included in the last sections. A photo gallery depicts the thumbnail photos of many of the relevant microorganisms used in agriculture field. For all the organisms key nucleotide sequences, protein sequences, their 3-D structure can also be retrieved by clicking on each organism in the Bioinformatics section. Web interface was provided by using html and JavaScript. This information systems can be accessible through our website www.bioinfcpcri.org with password restriction.
