 Distribution & Habitat:
 Forest in India and Sri Lanka.
 
 Description:
 One of the largest palms in the world, up to 25m tall, with costapalmate leaves up to 5m across, and petioles to 4m.
 
 General:
 Lives up to eighty years, but only flowers just before it dies. Has an inflorescence up to 6m tall, and containing several million flowers.
 
 Culture:
 Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Drought tolerant. Needs considerable space. Very slow growin
