Agricultural Research Station, Bavikere is located in north western side of Tarikere, midway between Tarikere and Lakkavalli towns at a distance of 9 km from Tarikere and 10 km from Lakkavalli. The research station comes under Southern Transition Zone (zone-7). It is situated between 750 51' E longitude and 130 420 N latitude with 667.51 m above MSL. The Farm is about 14 kms away from Bhadra Reservoir Project and 18 kms from Kuvempu University main campus at Shankaraghatta. The average annual rainfall is 1104.2 mm. The maximum temperature of 35-370C has been recorded during April-May, while minimum of 13-140C has been recorded during December. The relative humidity ranges from 65-70 per cent during January month and from 75 to 80 per cent during August month.
